  • Hi

My name is Greg. I am new to the forum.
I live about an hour NE of the cities. I am a long time car
guy. I had a '71 Demon that I raced out at Northstar
occasionally back in the mid '70s along with a '66 440
    Satellite in the late 70s.

I have worked building custom coaches and race
trailers for racers of all types for nearly 30 years
with the great majority of those going to drag racers
but I have also worked on some stuff for Nascar,
American Lemans, Indy/Cart as well as some Supercross
    and Monster truck teams.

I have never really considered myself a racer but
through my work, I have got to know many racers
and team owners. I don't know how much I can
contribute here but I hope to be able to pass on along
    some stories.

    Greg

Hey Greg! Welcome to TCO! Always good to have another true car guy in here. I read another one of your posts where you said you worked with Larry Deforrest. I always admired Larry as a racer and also his son is a good guy.

      Thanks for the welcome.
I have not seen Larry in years but I have heard he is doing well.
The last time I saw his kid (Jason) I think he was probably 13 or
      14 years old.

I worked for Larry for 10 years. I think the first race rig I helped him
build was a truck for Mike Sullivan (Wayne County Speedshop)

      Thanks again,
      Greg

The last time I saw Larry, he was at BIR with a late model Camaro with a 454-365 hp transplant and was running in some type of NHRA factory modified class. I told him how I remembered seeing him at Minnesota Dragways with his '65 Chevelle convert wiping out any and everybody he lined up against. He chuckled and said "that was when racing was fun."

Looking forward to hearing some of your stories. It's good to have another Mopar guy in here.
