Any GM Tech's here?

I got a question for yea.

I got an 06' chevy cobalt ls, its a five speed. I just change the transmission fluid and i read it should take 1.8 qts but mine only took a damn quart. WTF is wrong any help would be great. I did have the car on jack stands with the front up and the rear on the ground. I lower the car as much as I could but you can't put it on the ground because you have to take of the wheel to get to the fill plug.

Any help would be great
