This past spring the former owners widow asked if I was coming this fall to their car show and cruise in Jordan MN. in Sept. I told her that was the plan and that's why the engine change. Well that day was yesterday and man did I have a blast, lines of people and cars, trucks and what not old and new stuff. The More Door Nova was a huge hit with a lot of pictures taken last night. Over 50 food vendors there (I had a wood fired pizza ummm) with something to eat for everyone. The car show portion lasted for about 2hrs. and then the cruise started and I didn't know what to expect. We were warned about doing burnouts in the streets or we would be tagged, but after we got out a away from town there were no cops and the burnouts commenced. I got into one small town with over 200 people lining the sides for the road and lit the weenies up for them as well as the next 10 cars behind me, but no cops. This was the 1st time out in the open I had a chance to get on my new 468 peanut port engine and man does this Nova lift the front end and HOOK! I had the draggy in the car and set it and made an 1/8 mile pass. 7.35@97mph not quite as quick as the old 520 BBC but a lot more fun to drive. I told my wife on the way home, "this is the best time I've had at a car show since I owned my 1st Nova SS 396 car back in the 70's" She laughed and was glad I didn't get a ticket. For sure I'll be going next year with 2 cars.
