Minnesotas DMV sucks

Just got the title in the mail today. Not like I plan on getting rid of my new ride anytime soon. I bought it out of state and miles on the title where 37,xxx actual miles. Well Minnesota after so many years can put next too the mileage: Not Req'd . Same thing happened to me, went down to Florida a couple years ago and picked up my 94 GT, acutal mileage was 22,500 car fax said so and the Florida title said 20000 or so. I went to the DMV asked them to make sure some how the MN title would reflect this and low and behold, same Damn thing. MILES: N/A = Bull Sh*t. I feel your pain man.... Jason

The denver title states the last mileage recorded was at 32,xxx miles. Minnesotas law is (correct me if I'm wrong) if the vehicle is 10years or older they dont not have to put the mileage down and can put Not required in its place! Make sense?

Yes it should I think, from atleast when it was titled in CO, but it might show when the title was transfered to MN that it says not required, not sure but I'll prolly run a carfax sometime just too see.

You'll have other records that show the actual mileage right? I never take someones word on how many miles are on a vehicle without some proof that it's at least close to that. When have you ever been to a DMV where they asked what the mileage is and actually bothered to check anyway. As long as the person doesn't report it as fewer miles than it had before they just automatically accept that.

I do understand where you are coming from though, you want to document the fact that it's got X miles and not X miles + an odometer rollover. A good way to do that is with your insurance company, assuming they still speak to you If the mileage is low enough to affect the value of the car, then you should be documenting it with them. I've gotten a discount on my insurance for doing so, and proving that I have put fewer miles on my vehicles than I quoted. Doesn't work with everyone, but I've got a really good agent.

I do have other records I printed off the auto check that I did on the car before I bought it. I do get along with my ins agent well might contact him, I will also get an appraisal from a guy that he recommends
