Anyone here know anything about 4L80 transmissions

I bought a 4L80 this week and the guy said it was an early one so it shifts with a regular valvebody but I saw on the side of the trand that it has a wiring connector on it. I thoght all 4L80's were electric shift, Maybe I am wrong.

Anyway the guy is going to save the complete wiring harness for me inc. the pcm just in case. I just thought I would pick someones brain on this.

Will be nice to have overdrive in the Urbansub when I go towing.

All 4l80s are computer controlled.. As far as I know anyway. 3L80's (Late TH400) were not computer controlled.

A few companies sell stand alone controllers and harnesses, just would have to do a little searching on the 'ol internet. Requires installation of a TPS also.

Got the trans, wiring harness and the pcm out of the old truck also took everything else related to this swap too.
