So I need a timing chain and cover for the motor for my RX7.. I started looking to see what my choices were and wow theres alot of crap out there ..

Anyway My question for all of you is whats the real diff between a good roller chain set up and a gear drive setup.. I know the gear drives can be noisy that im not worried about .. I'm looking at reliability and eases of use..

just go with a good double roller chain, I always ran Cloyes chains

I agree with Tork. Plus, I believe those gear drives are not only noisey, they rob HP.

That noise you hear also transfers to the rest of the valvetrain.. Not necessarily the best thing for higher rpm stability. Plus it's now 2010, that noise should only be reserved for supercharger drives. :poo:

You can't go wrong with a quality Cloyes or Rollmaster timing chain.
